Vopak Docks – A-8 Dock

Length of Dock: 650 feet.
Project depth alongside the dock is 42 feet.
Check with Dow Marine for actual depth alongside.
Berthing is usually port side. Vessels may dock starboard side with prior pilot approval. Additional tug and restrictions may apply.

Recommended Mooring Arrangement:
All lines are run by heaving line.

 

 

 

All rope lines, NO WIRES ALLOWED.

     2 spring lines forward and aft
3 head lines
3 stern lines
Tug Requirements:
2 house tugs for arrival. Departure tug requirements should be determined with the pilot during arrival transit.
Caution:  Strong tidal current flow alongside A8 and in the Freeport Intercoastal Waterway (ICW) intersection. Bow thrusters are not always sufficient to control the vessel due to these currents. Additional tug may be required. Transits to this dock may be limited by the Pilots to periods of slack water.

Most vessels calling on A-22 turn around in the Brazosport Turning Basin upon arrival
Berthing is usually port side. Vessels may dock starboard side with prior pilot approval. Additional tug and restrictions may apply.

     2 spring lines forward and aft
4 head lines
4 stern lines

Vopak Docks – A-14 Dock

East and West Berthing

12″ EDC both sides
Minimum Vessel Size: 367 ft LOA
Maximum Vessel Size
820 ft. LOA 125 ft. Beam.
Vessels with a beam >125′ requires a “one time waiver from the Basic Operating Procedures” prior approval.
Maximum Displacement Tonnage: 90,000 tons
SHIPS MUST BE BALLASTED PRIOR TO BERTHING
** Projected depth alongside the docks is 42ft. Check with Dow Marine for actual Depth alongside.

All lines are run by shore messenger.
     2 spring lines forward and aft
3 head lines
3 stern lines

Tug Requirements:
2 house tugs per movement. Additional tug may be required based on LOA & BEAM refer to page 8.

 

No vessel may arrive or depart from A-14 West with a vessel docked at A-8 that has a beam >85 ft.

Caution: Strong tidal currents flow alongside the dock and in the Freeport ICW intersection.
